The Spoken Room is a new monthly poetry experience where live words are held and elevated by live music.

Hosted by poet and facilitator Tia-Zakura Camilleri, the evening begins with a guided writing session designed to help participants slow down, reflect, and explore their voice in a supportive environment.

Whether you’re a seasoned writer or someone who has never shared a poem before, the workshop invites honest expression without pressure.

Following the writing session, the room transitions into a live spoken word performance space where participants can choose to share their work accompanied by a live band. The musicians respond in real time, creating an immersive atmosphere where poetry and sound move together.

Rather than a traditional open mic or competitive format, The Spoken Room focuses on presence, listening, and collective experience. The event is designed as an intimate, seated gathering that encourages reflection, vulnerability, and connection.
