The Night Shift

Classical Music Minus The Rules + Neon Naked Life Drawing in the Playroom

The Night Shift returns to the Old Queen’s Head for the first Night Shift of the Spring, our series of informal gigs featuring chamber music by some of our favourite composers.

OAE leader Kati Debretzeni has curated a set which highlights the music of 17th Century English composers who may have been overshadowed by Henry Purcell’s fame, including Italian-turned-London-resident violinist and composer Nicola Matteis, William Lawes and Matthew Locke, as well as Purcell himself.

The performers feature an all-star ensemble of Kati Debretzeni and Huw Daniel (violins), Reiko Ichise (gamba) and Elizabeth Kenny (lute).
